Life was good, for a while. The last few months? Not so good. It had slowly spiraled into a pretty frustrating mess, one I still find myself trying to get away from. There is some uncertainty, I have no idea what to do beyond August, but I do look forward to a new start. I have learned a lot over the years, and hope to put the lessons to good use.

After a long week of work, I'm glad the weekend is here. Sadly it won't be much of a weekend. Money is a bit tight at the moment and it might be a couple of weeks before I can spend a little.
I've been grinding it out in Street Fighter IV, trying to move up the ranks in Championship Mode. I told myself before I got the game that I would just go straight online. No Arcade Mode, nor practice. Just play against live opponents and let that be my practice. I have gotten around to beating Arcade a couple of times to unlock characters, but I haven't put in much practice. Maybe I should, but for now I'm willing to take my losses as I grind through. So far my record is 140-147. Just saw the trailer for Koreeda's new movie, Air Doll, coming out in a few months. It looks to be about a blow-up doll who comes to life and basically lives out a life like any human being. I'm sure there'll be some soul-searching in this one, and I'm excited to see another Koreeda movie. Work was quite a drag today; for some reason I just felt things weren't getting done as fast as they could. Usually I'm done by 5pm on Fridays, but I didn't get out until 5:30pm. I'm just glad to be done now.
I'll be heading home tomorrow at 6am. I don't plan to sleep tonight as I need to be up by 4am and I usually don't fall asleep until 2am. I don't want to feel groggy since I plan to bike over to the station. I'll probably sleep once I get home. The guys plan to get fitted for tuxedos at around 4pm tomorrow, so I should be able to take a nap before that. My mom's going to wonder why I'm even down for such a short time, but this weekend is the only time I'll have to get fitted for a tuxedo. It does sound like a strange problem to have, but I think I've reached a point where if I keep adding games to my collection I may never finish the ones I have. Both Counter-Strike and Street Fighter IV require practice time to go along with actual play time, and I find myself not being able to get to the other big games I have. I ran into this problem when I had a PS 2, gathering a rather nice collection of games, but only finishing two of them. So I need to start committing to the other games I have and at least finish them. My weekend so far has consisted mostly of playing online in SF4, and so far it has not been pretty. Not with a record of 47-68. I definitely could use some practice time. I'm also considering buying a Mad Catz Fightstick SE since playing with a keyboard has its limitations. I can't afford the TE version of the Fightstick, which is selling for $125-$150 online, so a SE version that goes for about $60 is a more affordable alternative. Even better, the joystick is easy to mod, so I can add some Sanwa buttons, which are used for the TE joystick, for about $20. Yes, at some point the cost of new parts would put the SE at nearly $100, but it's a matter of having a stick now which later on which can be upgraded later on. So, I don't know how far this site will go or how long it will last, but I figure I would give it a shot. It's meant primarily to facilitate sales and trades, but will serve as my own personal space. I realize I do have quite a few animes, dramas and movies and I could just use them as trade bait. I say that because I hardly ever watch the stuff I have often. Anyone who really knows me understands my viewing habits and know that I have a backlog of movies and shows I have yet to watch. It does make trading guidelines a little difficult to set. A drama for a bag of cookies to be eaten later? I'd do it, because I'll eat the cookies, but I may not watch a show I get in return. Are there movies and shows I want? Sure, but there are only so few I can think of. |
